Helping Stacey recover and come home

Stacey Coombes is a beautiful vibrant 21 year old young woman, living her life to the full as a Uni student. Stacey is the daughter of Julie Coombes. She is a social butterfly who has always been involved in sports, with rowing being her passion. She’s one tough cookie, she had a rare, benign, locally aggressive bone tumour as a teenager and has been a rock to her family. She remained so strong when her dad Allan was fighting cancer until he finally lost his fight in 2017.
Unfortunately there is another bump in the road for Stacey, she recently caught a virus that is now attacking her heart. She’s in the cardiac care unit at Port Macquarie Base Hospital and is waiting to be transferred to Sydney!
These are words from her mother Julie who is a Registered Nurse with many years experience.
“Just a warning to my friends
Don’t take a virus lightly
Our beautiful healthy active 21 yr old girl has ended up in coronary care unit
She caught a garden variety virus with it’s usual headaches, fever and gastric involvement
Has now attacked the muscle of her heart and who knows what this ultimately will mean
Did all the right things
Immunisation for the flu, used hand sanitizer and washed hands vigilantly
Slept and ate as well as a uni kid does
Excited about upcoming rowing season
Just an average, going about her life kind of girl
Please don’t underestimate a virus”
Stacey still has on campus rent to pay among other commitments which she obviously can’t get to work to earn the money to cover it. She’s going to have medical expenses as well, so please dig deep and donate to help Stacey recover and come home!
