Helping Rob Rodriguez Recover from Heart Surgery

On November 24, Robert was admitted to Long Beach Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery for a Aorta Dissection while at work (Costco driver) and was transported by helicopter to Long Beach. It is a miracle in itself that he is still with us because the Emergency Room at Corona Regional Hospital where he was first taken by ambulance was unable to find a Heart Surgeon to operate on him. Corona Regional finally coordinated and arranged for his flight almost 10 hours later to Long Beach Memorial Hospital where Robert had Open Heart Surgery to replace heart valves.

Robert is now in the Critical Care Unit, his condition is stable but was diagnosed with pneumonia 2 days ago, which is common with heart surgery. Robert's recovery has been slow and steady, he still has no idea about details he has been heavily sedated with a ventilator to help with his breathing. His 2 daughters are by his side each and everyday making sure their father is taken care of.

The outpouring of love and support directly reflects how beloved he is, and his friends & neighbors willingness to help in any way they can has been incredibly moving. It's a testament to Robert's character, as well as the caliber of people he surrounds himself with. Our family is immensely grateful for each and every one of you.
