Helping Rhett Fix A Flat

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Maxine and I am a friend of Nicole and Cameron Hancock and their little boy Rhett. I hope you don’t mind my sense of humor with the campaign title but we all need a little giggle once in awhile. Anyways as many of you know, Nicole and Cameron would do anything for Rhett. Rhett is 5 months old and has been recently diagnosed with Torticollis.  Torticollis is a condition where the neck muscles contract causing the head to twist and favor looking to one side only. There is no rhyme or reason as to why this happens, but from just sitting comfortably in the womb babies get into a position and don’t have much room to move around.  In Rhett’s case he was head down for awhile, so he stayed where he was comfortable.

Because of the torticollis, he has also been going to physical therapy twice a week and needs to see his doctors 1 time weekly. Because of Torticollis, Rhett has been also  diagnosed with Plagiocephaly, which is a condition where the head is developing flat areas because of the favoring one side. Rhett has been going to PT and has been exercising, as much as he tolerates, but the tightening in his neck is severe.

Cranial clinicians strongly recommends Rhett to wear a custom fit helmet, to help his head grow correctly and fix some of the flat areas.  He will need to wear this helmet 23 hours a day.  They do expect a 100% recovery with wearing the helmet.   Without having the needed treatment, it delays his motor skills, milestones, the head will continue to mis-shape, and it could eventually require a surgical procedure.

This news has been devastating to Nicole and Cameron.  For those of you that don’t know, Cameron is on active duty with the United States Army and Nicole is a nurse. They work very hard to provide for their family and make sacrifices doing so. The whole purpose of this entire story is that the military insurance carried by Cameron will not cover these expenses for Rhett’s treatments. Nicole and Cameron did not ever expect the insurance to let them down and call this a “cosmetic device”. We all know this is not right and insurance companies can be worthless when they’re needed.

Nicole and Cameron are good people and they have received tremendous moral support, prayers and kind thoughts from their friends and family.  They are so appreciative of all this outpouring of support.

I’d like to alleviate some of these outrageous out of pocket expenses they are going to face and I’m asking friends and family to help me give them a helping a hand to raise $2,650. The $2,650 will cover the fitting of the helmet, the cost of the helmet and the weekly appointments.  As soon as we reach the $2,650, we will close the request.  Any amount is GREATLY appreciated and so thankful

Thank you!!!
