Helping Persia's vet bill.

I'm Anne, and I'm fundraising to cover some vets bills for our lovely cat Persia. She's been our much loved companion for over 16 years now, having started life as a rescue cat. She's currently suffering from detached retinas, caused by thyroid issues and feline hypertension, and the vet has started a treatment programme for her, designed to give her some more years of life.

The trouble is from our point of view this has happened at a very difficult time as my husband Steve's job is in the balance due to local authority funding cuts, and we are trying to resolve other financial problems but can't get that sorted for another couple of months. In short, the last thing we need right now is large vets' bills. We have insurance which will cover some of the cost. Because she is classed as an elderly cat there is a fairly large excess and co-pay for us to find.

I hate to ask. I really hate to ask. But if you could chip in and help I'd be most grateful (and so would Persia, I know). Thank you in advance. All the money will go to her medical expenses, and if we should receive more than we need we'll put the excess into a local animal charity.
