With a heavy heart, I share our family’s story during one of the most difficult moments of our lives.
On October 3, 2025, my husband, Pedro Santiago, was detained by immigration authorities while on his way to purchase work materials. He was arrested solely due to his immigration status and later transferred without notice to a detention facility in Louisiana, where he remains today. He has no criminal record and is a hardworking, devoted husband and father.
Pedro and I have two very young children, Nicole (3 years old) and Noah (18 months old), who struggle daily with his absence. They constantly ask for their father, and the emotional impact on them has been heartbreaking. Pedro spent Thanksgiving and Christmas alone in detention, while our children waited for him to come home.
In addition to this, Pedro suffers from chronic medical conditions, including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Since his detention, his health has worsened, and recent heart-related issues have caused serious concern.
We are currently working with an attorney to fight his case and prevent deportation, but the legal costs, commissary expenses, and household bills have created an overwhelming financial burden. I have been unable to work as I am caring for our children on my own, with limited family support.
We humbly ask for any support you may be able to offer—whether through a donation or by sharing our story. Your kindness will help us continue this legal fight and support our family during this painful time.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any help you can provide. May God bless you for your compassion and generosity.
With gratitude,
