Helping Pat Help Leonard

Hello friends and family! Our Fancy Nancy family is rallying together to help support one of our own, Pat, and her husband Leonard who are going through a very tough time at the moment.

After a long and somewhat silent battle with diabetes Leonard’s health really started to take a turn when his eyesight became affected. He’s had multiple surgeries and is still continuing with ongoing treatments. His health took another turn for the worse when the diabetes began to affect his kidneys so severely that he was just approved to be put on the transplant list. Most of you know that people can wait on a transplant list for a very long time and Pat has found out that she is able and willing to be his kidney donor and wants to do everything in her power to make sure he is healthy and comfortable in their future together.

2020 has been the year to kick us all while we’re down, so we want to help Pat and Leonard anyway we can. There will be extensive medical costs and ongoing treatment as well as travel expenses and in-home care. They will try to stay on their regular health insurance for as long as possible but even with Medicare, the cost of cat scans, bloodwork, extensive testing and post-op in home care for both of them for up to 4-6 weeks will be staggering, with the cost of six weeks post op medications being $6,000 alone.

An exact surgery date has not been set yet but should be happening within the next few months. We are hoping that between our Salon, family, friends and our wonderful community that we will be able to help alleviate some of the burden being placed on them. We will try to keep everyone updated with any new progress and information. Any amount helps, and thank you to those who have already reached out to her with kind thoughts, prayers and offered to help.
