Helping out Team Patterson!!! #wegotyoucoach
On Sunday night, December 15th Coach Patterson's family home burned to the ground. At this point the cause is unknown but we are happy to tell everyone Chuck, Kathy, Mason, Kell and the dogs all got out safely!!! The house including a vehicle were destroyed. The family has a place to stay for the meanwhile; however, everything else was lost!!!
The family is new to Blue Ridge and the Fannin County School District. The Fannin County High School wrestling team is lucky to have such an amazing and inspiring coach.
Coach Chuck Patterson and Kathy left Cherokee County with their boys Mason (7) and Kell (4) last summer. Prior to leaving, Coach Patterson served as a teacher and coach at Sequoyah High School where Coach Patterson was a football coach and the Head Wrestling coach. He made a tremendous impact on students through his coaching and classroom. He built the wrestling program back up into something fantastic by recruiting wrestlers right out of the halls. He took the program from small to large with many successes and trips to State. He has given so much to so many and we want to ensure in this time of hardship we can give back! Kathy worked at the Dean Rusk Middle School as a student psychologist while Mason was a student at Hickory Flat Elementary School.
This family is full of life, love and fun which the fire did not destroy. We know that generosity and kindness of others will help get Chuck, Kathy, Mason and Kell back on their feet in a new family home. Any funds donated will be sent to the family to be used as needed.
