Helping Our Friend Smokey After Being Mugged

Our dear friend Smokey, aka Mama Bear, aka Mz. Thing, aka Ding-Dong Graham Bell, was mugged last night at gunpoint while walking around his neighborhood here in DC. He lost his phone and his eye glasses, but his wallet was safely hidden away. Smokey fought back and was bruised and had a broken hand. After being patched up at Washington Hospital Center, he is now home. The thing about Smokey is, anyone who knows him knows that he is the best friend and person we know. He'll do anything to help, even when his resources are small. He's been unemployed since the pandemic began and I know we all are searching for a way to help him in this terrible time of need.

He's going to need a new phone, and new eye glasses, both of which are not cheap. I am estimating this goal. He's also going to need help with meals and I think will be ordering in a lot more than he normally would. He's also going to need moral support, so if you can't help financially, check in on him, now via Facebook messenger or e-mail since he doesn't have a phone.

We also know he will hate this, but that's the sort of thing you have coming to you when you're the kind, generous, caring soul he is. Let's help Smokey, guys.
