<div>We are writing this on behalf of our dear friend, Melissa. Anyone who knows her knows she is always the one helping others and never the one asking for help — which is why we are stepping in now.

<div>Melissa has been bravely fighting cervical cancer. After surgery, she developed an infection that delayed her recovery and the start of her treatments. She began radiation and chemotherapy, but due to severe side effects, her doctors have put her radiation on pause until they can re-map it.

</div>

<div>Melissa works as a CNA, a job that requires heavy lifting and physical work. She expected to be out of work for about six weeks, but she has already been out nine weeks — and it’s now looking like it may be 16+ before she can return. To make matters harder, she did not have short-term disability, and most of her PTO had already been used for doctor’s appointments and surgery prep, leaving her with very little time to fall back on.

<div>Unfortunately, the bills don’t pause. Between her mortgage, utilities, medical copayments, and everyday expenses, she’s getting further behind and struggling to catch up. This GoFundMe was created to help ease that burden so Melissa can focus on her health and healing without the added stress of falling further behind.
