... is to help my dear friend Helena , whose life got shattered to pieces within 60 seconds in a horrific turn of events when recently her husband Sarkar Almasov died under tragic circumstances. Sarkar Almasov was a dear friend of mine a former colleague at work.
During the summer of 2021 ...
... after spending more than half a decade together as a couple, our dear friends Sarkar & Helena committed themselves to each other for the rest of their lives at a picture-perfect wedding in the countryside of the Czech Republic.
One of their favorite activities was traveling the world together. Their wanderlust had taken them to amazing countries all around the world.
However, there was one particular place they had always kept close to their heart - Lago di Como in Italy.
From their very first visit many years ago, Sarkar & Helena had fallen in love with the sweet life, often described as the Italian Dolce Vita. A simple night out with some local pizza and pasta had always brought a smile to their faces. Their adventures were always accompanied by their dog named Buddy.
On the Sunday afternoon of the 28th of August 2022...
... they rented a small boat to spend some time enjoying the views of the Lago di Como. The horrific scenario unfolded just moments later.
As Sarkar jumped into the water to grab Buddy´s toy, he suddenly started struggling to stay afloat and yelled for help. Helena jumped right it and swam over to help him. She desperately tried her best to calm him down and hold him above the water line. With Sarkar starting to panic more and more, she lacked the strength to support him in a way where he could catch a breath. At this point, they were both fighting not to drown into the depths of the lake. In the end, Sarkar was underwater, just holding on to Helena´s leg as his last resort of hope.
In order for him not to drag her down as well, he finally made the loving decision to let go of his wife and disappear into the deep blue. Our friend Helena remained stranded and alone in the waters, just screaming for help until she was rescued by another boat.
The following week she had to wait in the area until the rescue team finally found Sarkar's body, which had sunken 130m to the bottom of the lake. To make matters worse, she had to identify the remaining corpse of her soulmate to the police after it had spent 5 full days being disfigured and bloating in the waters.
Now, we need to support her ...
... in the journey to heal from this dreadful trauma and gather the remaining bits of her life back together. Gladly, she has opened up to be willing to go to therapy to process this awful experience in the best way possible. You can probably imagine that it will take a lot of time for her to regroup and come to terms with what happened, or at least try to do so.
Therefore, we set up this campaign to contribute some of the resources she needs to at least have a chance of living a happy and fulfilled life at some point in the future.
