Let’s Help Nelsi fight Cancer!

Nuestra querida Nelsi una joven con tan solo 35 años llena de vida fue diagnosticada con cáncer en el estómago en Agosto del 2018 en su país natal la Republica Dominicana. Debido al diagnóstico le removieron el estómago por completo. Cuando creíamos que recuperaría su salud de nuevo, la vida la sorprendió nuevamente en Enero del 2020 con un diagnóstico de cáncer en sus pulmones, páncreas y hígado. Sus doctores en la Republica Dominicana le informaron que su diagnostico era de cáncer terminal y no era operable. Buscando esperanza Nelsi vino hacia New York, y en un hospital del Bronx encontró una respuesta positiva y llena de esperanzas. Después de más de un mes sin alimento sólidos y solo sosteniéndose a base de sueros, aquí le han informado que si la pueden operar para poder comenzar su alimentación y un tratamiento contra el cáncer. Debido a que Nelsi no reside en los Estado Unidos y su estatus legal es visitante del país no tiene seguro médico. Desafortunadamente tampoco cuenta con los recursos necesarios para pagar su operación y tratamientos. Su familia han agotado sus recursos en la Republica Dominicana y por eso piden cualquier ayuda que podamos darle en este momento tan difícil de sus vidas. Desde antemano le agradecemos por cada granito de arena que aporten a la causa.

Our dear Nelsi , a young woman who is only 35 years old and full of life was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August 2018 in her home country the Dominican Republic. Due to the diagnosis, her stomach was completely removed. When we thought she would recover her health again, life surprised her again in January 2020 with a diagnosis of cancer in her lungs, pancreas and liver. Her doctors in the Dominican Republic informed her that her diagnosis was terminal cancer and was inoperable. Seeking a second opinion, Nelsi came to New York, and in the Bronx she found a positive and hopeful response. After more than a month without solid food and only surviving on IV fluids, here in New York she has been informed that they are able to perform surgery in order to be able to start her on solid foods again and a cancer treatment. Because Nelsi does not reside in the United States and her legal status is a visitor to the country she has no medical insurance. Unfortunately, she does not have the necessary resources to pay for her surgeries and treatments. Her family has exhausted their resources in the Dominican Republic and that is why they ask for any help we can give them during this difficult time in their lives.
