Helping My Grandson to Walk

Rafael Nicholas Hayes II is 2 yrs 3 months old.  He was born with multiple complications at birth.  Since birth he has spent the first 4 months of his life in NICU @ Womens Hospital in Baton Rouge, La obtaining several surgeries before being able to go home.  He has a number of surgeries that has to be performed over the coming months.  The Go Fund Me is for (PFFD).  Thats Proximal Fermoral Focal Deficiency.  the majority of his legs consist of his knee caps and lower extremity.  This procedure will lengthen his thigh bone so that he'll be able to walk.  Abigal Hope Scott had the procedure done.  As you can see from her youtube video the operation works.  Rafaels operation will be a little more intensive because both his legs are affected by the disease.  Please go to her link on youtube so that you can see whats entailed in this operation.  There will be months of Physical therapy involved.

the funds are needed as soon as they can be raised.  All donations will go towards helping the family to remain with him while he goes through his surgeries and therapy in Florida.  It will help with expenses there and at home.  Rafaels first surgery will entail hip surgery.  this is to help him to stand and walk.  The lengthening surgery comes afterwards.  The procedure is dipicted at www.paleyinstitute.org.  This will be something that my grandson will have to deal with for years.  The $15,000.00 we're trying to raise is a minimum amount compared to what will be needed over the years of therapy that he has to endure and go through.  The family thanks you very much for your help.
