Helping Marie with funeral expenses

I've never started a GoFundMe before, nor did I ever plan on it. But a beloved friend of mine needs help.

Some of you know and are good friends with Marie McCaffrey. I grew up with her for years. We're still great friends. Unfortunately, Marie and her family have fallen on hard times. It's been one incident after another.

Marie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was able to overcome it, but after battling the disease, it sent her into a deep depression, leaving her unable to work.

Most recently, her husband, Dave, passed away suddenly. He started having health issues beginning last summer, but none of these issues were considered life threatening.

While trying to cover the cost of Dave's funeral, she unknowingly found out her insurance expired. When she tried to renew it, because of her and Dave's health problems, the cost per month to renew her insurance skyrocketed to the point where it was impossible for her to have insurance.

Marie has had a hard time trying to to cover the high costs of Dave's funeral. And with the sudden death of her husband, it left Marie struggling to find the funds. Funerals are a high cost, and she needs our help.

I've started this GoFundMe as a way to show Marie that her friends love her and to help pitch in for the funeral expenses.

I've set a goal of $3,000. All money raised will go to the cost of the funeral expenses, with any additional money raised going directly to Marie and her family.

I hope you're able to join me and helping our dear friend Marie. She needs help right now and it's up to us to be there during these trying times.
