Helping Maria In Time Of Need

My name is Holly Corso-Fons . I am organizing this Fundraiser for a family friend Maria. Maria is 73 years old. This past Saturday Dec 28th the unimaginable happened to her and her home. She lives on Hawley Rd in Milwaukee and in the mid morning of that day there was a water main break that literally destroyed her home. There was 5 ft of water in her basement ruining everything from her hot water heater, furnace , washer and dryer amongst ruining all her personal treasures in her home of 42 yrs including her car . Thank goodness she has a sister that she can stay with for the time being. The house is unlivable and she will be moving into senior housing but the wait list is 3-6 months long . Maria has been through so much this year . In August she lost her husband to prostate cancer and is still paying on the bills from this and now she literally lost her home all within a blink of an eye. Maria and her husband were married for 51 beautiful years . She lives on a small pension and social security. She needs help with medical expenses and moving costs, essential needs and repairs . Maria has a outstanding mortgage balance which is $50,000 which will go into foreclosure and literally has lost all the value of her home. She did not have any flood insurance and homeowners will not be of any assistance . I would like to raise enough money so she can get back on her feet and give her some hope and peace and show her that people care.
