My name is Trapper. Lena is my mom, she is 67 years old and not doing so good right now. I found her barely breathing with blue lips on the morning of the 31st of december. I got her to the hospital as quick as possable and was told she had a cell oxygen level of 42%. and that below 80% is dangerzone.
She was intubated immediatly. After 4 days she hadn't woken up and I started losing hope. didnt even have a plan. She had a very aggresive flu and she caught it from me. After the sixth day she opened hey eyes and seemed confused and non cooprative but it was a start.
By the 8th day she was awake and begining to try to communicate. The breathing tube making it hard to mouth words and swelling making it hard to write. the 10th day they finally called me. they informed me ofthe pnumonia. I had been visiting or calling every 10 to 12 hours, and the hospital hadn't actively contacted me once.
Yesterday they removed the tube. She was so happy. I was so happy... I got a call an hour ago, They had to reintubate due to stridor. thats a whistling in the throat that indicates a narrowing of the airway. If she doesnt show signs of improvment over night the doctor will have no real choice but to do a trachistomy.
there is nothing I can do about her health. I know that. But I can try to make sure she still has an appartment to come home to when she gets released. Whenever that is. But I dont make enough money to pay all of her bills. rent and electric mostly. A friend recommended setting up a go fund me to ask for help. I have a hard time with asking for help. I am usually the one trying to help others. But there is no room or time for pride here. So here I am. asking you to please help me not fail my mom.
