Helping Kyren After The Loss Of His Dad

On Sunday, after coming home from camping, my 14 year old nephew Kyren lost his dad. He was by his dad's side as he took his last breath, having lost his battle with cancer.

 

The day before Kyren was a part of the group that discovered the body of a missing person floating in the reservoir.

 

It was a hard weekend.

 

This fundraiser is to help Kyren with the financial effects of losing his dad so young.

 

His phone was on his dad's cell phone plan and so now Ky, an incoming freshman, is without a phone to stay in touch with the people who care about him. Ky had also saved up his own money to buy a quad off of Facebook only to discover that it wouldn't run and needed a ton of work.

 

I would love to help get Ky a phone to help him stay connected with people who care and a quad to replace the one he is not able to use, to give him a distraction from the trauma he has recently had to experience.

 

While things cannot replace his hero, his idol, and his best friend, they can help bring some joy back in to his life.

Lastly, please keep Ky in your thoughts and prayers. It is so devastating to see this normally happy and fun child torn up and broken inside. Loss is hard at any age, but watching your dad slowly die a painful death to an awful disease at 14 years old is way more than he should have to deal with.
