Helping Ken continue to fight!

Hello, my name is Carrie and I want to tell you my father story. My father is 64 years old and his name is Ken Walker. Ken has two daughters myself and Amy also two grandchildren. 2017 started out as a great year, in September 2017 our lives changed forever . My father had not been feeling well and started to lose his balance and was very unsteady also his memory wasn't the same anymore. It was like his short term memory was gone. It was like he woke up one day in his memories had just disappeared . On September 18th I was able to convince  my father go to the emergency Room to be checked out after a few falls. One fall he had hit his chest against a car trying to catch himself . If you know my father this was a true fight to get him to go to the hospital. We arrive, check in, I explain to the doctors what  has been going on. I explained all his symptoms losing his balance, unsteady, memory loss and sometimes blood when he would cough. The doctors examined him and gave him a chest X-ray and the doctor gave him something for pain while we waited on the results . The results came back, the doctor returned and told us the x-rays looked fine no broken ribs ect ect...We still have no explanation of the memory loss, unsteady balance .His symptoms continue to get worse on September 22nd he agreed again to go a emergency room at another local hospital. They took this back right and listened to us when we were describing his symptoms. Another symptom that he described this time was that the room was spinning and dizziness. The doctor told us the room spinning usually has something to do with a person's ear or brain. The doctor ordered blood work, urine test, EKG, and cat scan of the brain. I was going crazy on the inside. My internal alarms started to go off, I just kept thinking this is going to be worse than expected. The doctor came back in to let us know he was also ordering CT scan of his lungs as well. We sat patiently waiting for the results after a little while the doctor returned to give us the results. My father was diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to the brain as well. They wanted to admit him so they could perform more tests. While in the hospital they performed a mri body scan and found cancer spots on his kidney as well and bone cancer .My father stayed in the hospital for one week .We met with his medical team and they came up with a treatment plan. All the time while in the hospital my father was worrying about the medical bills that were accumulating daily. He would ask what am I going to do about these bills . He was worrying about what I'm going to do about my own bills since I had not been working so I could stay by his side . He was finally released from the hospital, radiation have begun. Once again he started worrying about the bills for the treatments and my financial well being. My father is continuing to fight his battle with cancer . After radiation he became very weak. At that point the doctor suggested hospice.  We decided to bring hospice in to see if they can help and he could regained some strength to do  further treatment. Our hospice expense since my father does not have insurance is $2200 a month and his hospital bills and treatment bills are rapidly growing at this time we are at $60000. Please support Ken in his continuing fight with cancer. Anything you can donate is truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help support him during these times to allow him to focus on gaining strength and fighting. Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
