Helping Kate and Her Family

Our beautiful friend Kate has had a shock cancer diagnosis and we are looking to raise funds to help her family through this sudden loss of income. 



Kate is a newly-fellowed GP working near Brisbane. She has twin girls, 4.5 years old, and is just about to marry her long term sweetheart Adam (on Friday!).


Kate has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and has been found to have a large tumour in the base of her spine, and two other spots in her pelvis. This cancer is not curable but hopefully with treatment she will have many years ahead to spend with her young family.


Kate has had to stop work suddenly to start radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Her fiancee Adam is a newly graduated police officer who is working a tricky roster. Kate was the main breadwinner in the family and her sudden loss of income has added further stress to what's already a difficult time. Their little girls, Mikaela and Nikita, are due to start prep in January and have had to change schools to accomodate financial concerns.
