Helping Kara, and her aplastic anaemia journey

Donation protected
On the 6th January our dear friends daughter, Kara, fell poorly to an unknown illness. After many painful tests we found out Kara has severe aplastic anemia. Aplastic anemia is a condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. Aplastic anemia leaves you feeling fatigued and with a high risk of infections, and uncontrolled bleeding.
A rare and serious condition, aplastic anemia can develop at any age. Aplastic anemia may occur suddenly, or it can occur slowly and get worse over a long period of time. Treatment for aplastic anemia may include medications, blood transfusions, and/or a stem cell transplant, also known as a bone marrow transplant.
Thankfully after more tests, Karas sister is a match and is able to donate her bone marrow to save her sister life. Unfortunately, once the bone marrow has been harvested and donated, the hospital will not allow Kara home unless she has her own bedroom. As Kara is from a large family, and space is an issue, we need to raise enough money to convert the loft so Kara is able to come home to her family, to heal.

If you would like to follow Karas journey, please like and share Karas page to make other people aware of this serious condition.
Thank you
