Helping Jody Heal!!

Here is Jody's story in her own words:

Here it goes...
I know there are a lot of friends and family that would like to stay informed with what is happening in my life. So if you don't already know, I have catamenial epilepsy. That means it has to do with my hormones. Had it for 13 year's now and have tried lots of different medications, diets and hormonal therapy. Pretty much the list of things that I could experiment with safely I've tried.

I've prayed for years that the Lord would lead me (my husband and family too) in the direction I should go for what ever needs to be done for help with controlling my siezures. Not just for myself, but for my family too. I would love to be that mom and wife that could work and drive and do such more for them, and so many more people I know and love!

I'm not writing this as a need for sympathy, but a sharing of how God's hands are all over my life!!
I'm actually thankful for my epilepsy, it's made me view life in a way that I would have never thought possible before. I can appreciate so much in the simplest things.

It's very hard being on all the medication and side effects. The way my family has to be prepared to drop everything to help me if I have siezures. I'm grateful beyond words to everyone who has been in my life throughout this adventure!

So now the door God has decided to open for me... Brain Surgery! Amygdalahippocampectomy.
Say that one a few times fast!!

I'm a good candidate for it. Only a select few with epilepsy are. I'm thankful that all the testing show that it would be a good choice for me. Like I said, I've prayed for years that God would open the right doors and he did. I've been saying I was willing to have a full hysterectomy if that would help, that was never an open door. As soon as I scheduled the appointment for brain surgery, the other doors started opening just like they were falling into place and I'm feeling so good about this decision.

My surgery date is January 10.

Recovery is not going to be pleasant for a couple weeks afterwards. However, I will be showing off a new hairstyle when I get home and I will do my best to update with some photos.

My slogan that God has given me...
I've surrendered to you Lord, so that I can smile!

Thank you to everyone for all your kind thoughts and prayers! I look forward to coming through this siezure free! With a smile and a great attitude towards the next journeys in life!!

I created this GoFundMe account because I have known Jody for most of my life and can honestly say she is one of the most genuine, kind hearted, caring and giving souls I know.  She always has a kind word, warm hug and beautiful smile on her face even though she has been faced with serious health problems for the last 13 years.

Now is the time for us as a community to come together and support Jody and her family as they go through this very trying, yet hopeful, surgery and healing process.  We can all agree that life is challenging on it's best days but can become completely overwhelming at times like these.  Any donation you can give will help Jody and her family get through this trying time with lighter hearts and an easier peace of mind.

Thank you so much for your support!!
