Helping Jayden Evans

So many of you have cried, prayed, and wondered what you can do to help the Evans Family.  They are so grateful for you all. They have truly felt your love and support.....We are finally ready to talk about Jayden's story and what you can do to help. 

On September 20th, Jayden Evans, a Triton Central High School Senior,  was falsely accused of making a bomb threat. The rumors were a result of comments made by students who had been bullying Jayden about his looks by calling him an Islamic Terrorist and a suicide bomber. The police found no evidence of a crime and declined search his personal belongings or vehicle. There were no charges but TCHS said he would still be suspended pending expulsion.

After high school Jayden is joining the National Guard to serve our county. He can't sign if he's not in school. Fearing that this would ruin future plans and his education, His parents withdrew him so they could immediately enroll him in a new school district. That proved difficult but they were finally able to get Jayden enrolled in his only option of an online program. However, he lost all of his AP courses and electives.  There would be no going to school,  no sports, no homecoming, no prom, no senior class camaraderie, no graduation with friends.

After reviewing everything, his parents realized that this whole ordeal seemed to be mishandled by TCHS from the start.   His heartbroken parents just couldn't understand. Jayden is a good kid. He had never been in trouble. He was a peer mentor. He worked with younger kids. He was asked to each lunch with troubled 2nd graders as a positive male role model. He was working directly under the Varsity basketball coach because he wants to be an educator and a coach. He planned on coaching the youth league. How did rumors that originated from a known trouble maker result in Jayden losing everything and the other kid was still going to school??  How come the rumors were addressed but the bullying was not? Evan after the other student admitted to it on social media.  It's not fair and it's not right.  After a friend pointed out several things that seemed wrong and the social media post, Jayden's parents tried to talk with the TCHS Superintendent but he was unwilling to help. His position was that he was withdrawn and no longer their problem.  The family decided that they'd pray for guidance on what to do next and for desperately needed peace.

 
Word got around and Jayden's friends from his time at Zion Lutheran School contacted him. "Come to Lutheran HS" they said "we want you here". Jayden seemed relieved for the first time in several days but his parents hesitated to let him apply. They already had difficulty with other schools accepting him because of this mess. Also, the cost. They weren't planning on paying for high school and they know they cannot afford it.  They did find out that TCHS did not go through with the expulsion so Jayden's discipline record is still clean. While it didn't make a difference with the other public schools, Lutheran High School was at least willing to talk with him.

 Jayden was accepted to Lutheran high school! On October 22, he can finally get back into the classroom and get back to the business of enjoying his senior year. Jayden attended Zion Lutheran school for most of his grade school years. He knows the school, he knows the teachers, he knows the kids. This feels like coming home to him.

 Lutheran is quite expensive and his parents weren’t expecting or planning for this kind of expense. They have applied for financial aid and Jayden will continue to work the job he has held for over a year to contribute, but it will likely fall very short of the $925 a month they need for tuition.

 They need help. Jayden needs help.
