Helping Jason Cook

Many of you know Jason Cook as the lead guitarist in The Cook Trio. He has made his life sharing his passion for music with audiences and teaching students. Jason is a kind-hearted person who is loved by all. Jason has battled with an intermittent Cerebral Spinal Fluid leak for the past 15 years. On April 2, 2017 Jason experienced a severe neck injury that compressed and damaged several vertebrae on his spinal cord in both his neck and back. In addition, it complicated his CSF leak. As a musician in The Cook Trio, one of the driving forces of Jason Cook’s life is his love for music. Unfortunately, because of this injury he has had to put down his guitar for now, until he recovers. By day, Jason teaches music to guitar and ukulele students in Cocoa Village, but he has been unable to work for the past two months. The once routine activities of playing guitar or teaching have proven too painful for him to do. He has been traveling to hospitals and specialists throughout the State of Florida and continues to be referred for more medical procedures and diagnostics by the neurologists that have been providing his treatment. He has been going to doctors throughout Brevard, Jacksonville, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and the hospital at the University of Miami. The diagnosis is a traumatic disc herniation of his cervical spine compressing the spinal cord causing Brain Stem Stroke Syndrome, vertigo, vascular headache, mental confusion, imbalance, and neurological difficulties. He is unable to continue working during this time until a treatment plan has been determined.
