Let's Help Harry!!
Lots of concerned neighbors in the Fishers/Indianapolis community have met Harry, a previous EMT who has been hit with some big challenges in his life right now and needs some help, love & support!
He is currently living in his car on 96th street. He has two vehicles that are in need of repair and also needs a warm place to stay while one of his vehicles are being repaired. Several neighbors on the Nextdoor app have expressed wanting to help with car repairs, plates, short-term lodging, prescriptions, eyeglasses so we thought it would be good to have one place to donate funds to assist Harry with some of his immediate needs. Once he gets one of his cars fixed, he is very anxious to find a job and get back to work!!
Harry is very humbled by the huge outpouring of support and all the gifts and donations he has already received. He is very proud and was a bit reluctant to receiving so much assistance, but all our wonderful neighbors are persistent and on a mission to help. He has also really loved all the surprise visits from so many of you as well!! Let's pull together and help Harry to brighter days!!
A small group of us will be working with Harry to get at least one of his cars in the shop, repaired, plates renewed, and settled in a warm place short term so he isn't out in the cold. The team is hoping to cover a minimum of 30 days.
Being a part of this community gives me great pride and seeing so many people pulling together and offering help to Harry is truly inspiring!!
I have informed Harry of the GFM fundraiser and he has asked for a full list of names & emails of all donors so that he can thank everyone individually when the time comes. If you don't want your personal information shared with Harry, please donate anonymously.
