Helping Hands for Jordon

Donation protected

On Thursday, December 27, my 15 year old great-nephew, Jordon, suffered what doctors are describing as a "traumatic brain injury". He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital around 2:30 pm, and immediately stabilized and placed on life-support.

Over the past 24 hours, Jordon's brain has become less and less responsive to various stimuli. Doctors have described the situation as "grim", and prepared his immediate family for the strong possibility of "brain death" within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Jordon's mother is facing  decisions no mother of teenage children should be making, including organ donation. Donor teams have already been notified, and standing by for a decision of which donor path Jordon's mother ultimately decides upon.

Every dollar raised from this effort will be used to offset medical and funeral expenses associated with Jordon's catastrophic injury. Although too early to tell exactly what the final bills will be, the level of care being provided by the ICU has been extraordinary, and sure to exceed the current resources of Jordon's mother. Our initial goal is $25,000, but we'll be updating this page as we get more specific information.

For those not in a position to donate financially, please consider praying for Jordon and his family. The sudden loss of such an amazing young man will leave a hole in the hearts of many, and healing will take time and support.
