Helping Hand Fundraiser for Mark & Kathy Boyd
Mark Boyd is an entertainer in Branson, Missouri. He currently works at the Jerry Presley’s God & Country Theater. Mark and Kathy came to Branson 27 years ago from Wichita Falls, Texas. During his music career, Mark has played with several well-known stars including Moe Bandy, Ricky Nelson, Freddie Fender, Janie Frickie, T Gram Bell, T.G. Sheppard, Jim Ed Brown, Branson Bros., and 50’s at the Hop to mention some.
Mark and Kathy have two grown children and they have property where their goal is to have a homestead with individual houses for everyone. They are a tight knit family and have deep faith.
Mark and Kathy have had some life altering circumstances due to loss of health insurance and then two major surgeries for Mark. As a result, they are in financial distress. If that was not enough, on the way to pick Mark up from his last surgery someone hit Kathy and totaled their car. They have not resolved their car situation to date. One of the local car dealers is helping them in the interim.
Kathy also has a series of chronic illnesses that she is not seeking help with due to their insurance and financial situation. In addition, their situation will magnify soon as the seasonal slowdown in Branson for the winter months arrives.
When I heard their story, I was motivated to try to do something to give them some help.
