Helping Grady & Alli

Donation protected
Our longtime best friends Grady & Alli set out to pursue their shared dream of living on the Oregon Coast, less than a year ago. Soon after their arrival, they were met with significant medical & financial challenges. Alli suffered a severe and fairly debilitating concussion. After months of caring for his wife, Grady mentioned a sharp pain in his otherwise very strong shoulder, which they investigated.

Over the course of two weeks in August, Grady went from his normal state of health,
working 2 jobs in construction, looking for his first Certified Phlebotomist job, helping to care
for Alli, to getting his first chemotherapy treatment for newly diagnosed Testicular Cancer that has already spread to his liver and lungs. The pain in his right shoulder led to the imaging that caught the tumors - he had no symptoms otherwise and the sudden life shift has been quite a shock.
Grady is unable to work during his treatment, and as Alli is already on medical leave, this places a significant burden on them & their normally more than adequate combined incomes. On top of that, expenses are mounting from Grady’s cancer treatments and care needs, and Alli’s concussion therapy and specialist needs... not to mention a new mortgage, and the fact that they are new to their community and do not have the connections and resources that established community families do.
They are strong pioneers in need of our support.
These 2 are THE hardest working, most independent, goal driven folks we know. Never would they ask for or accept outside help. This situation; however, essentially requires such.  And so I am asking on their behalf. The fundraising goal I have set here is meant to essentially sustain them & cover their basic life & medical expenses for the next 6 months while Grady undergoes intensive Chemotherapy treatments and while they are both unexpectedly out of work.

If all goes well, Grady’s treatment will be finished by the end of the year. He will likely not be back to full time work until some time later.  As Alli ( a Nurse Practioner ) is his primary caregiver, while still recovering from a concussion, this fund goes to support them both, as a Family.

Any contribution to their assistance during this difficult time is wholeheartedly appreciated. No gift is too small. Please share this site with anyone you wish and know that in this community circle, all gifts will come back to all givers in all necessary times. Will the Circle be Unbroken.

Thank You,
Cabell & Brian & all of Grady & Alli's family & friends
