Helping Farmworkers in the 805 Area

Through many comrades I have met here in Ventura County, as we support farmworkers and demand equity for them, we have only learned about more injustices that have been continuously occurring to farmworkers in Ventura County (and of course statewide and nationwide).
Many (if not all) farmworkers suffer from health conditions that have accumulated due to the physical and mental labor of picking, packaging and distributing fruits and vegetables that are transported to supermarket chains where the vast majority of customers will not hear first hand or witness first hand the life of a farmworker much less an undocumented farmworker.
Children of farmworkers know that our parents and their coworkers will constantly need our aid to know of their rights because unfortunately too many parents who grow and pick these fields are not accommodated as they deserve by the companies/suppliers that hire them. Language barriers (many of these farmworkers only speak an indigenous language with very little understanding of spoken/written Spanish) and an undocumented status, leave so many families continuously underserved due to the fear of being workspace retaliation from their employers.
The previous aid I opened up for the H2A farm workers from the housing facility here in Oxnard not only aided farm workers with 200+ sanitation toolkits but also aided an additional 100+ farmworkers with packaged food bags and water cases for them and their families. I deeply thank you all for supporting the funds I opened up!
In collaboration with others, I am now looking into having farm workers tell their stories in their own languages (Spanish and their Indigenous languages) with a LA Times photographer of the hardships that have only been enduring prior to the pandemic that have now escalated due to no access of healthcare/unemployment benefits and being labeled essential because they have been and continue to be the backbone of this county that refuses to acknowledge them let alone provide them resources and aid.
On top of this project I will be working on continuing to provide food and supplies to these farmworkers and their families as they go through this pandemic.
