Helping families affected by the war in Armenia

This is the story of my relatives from Karabakh:

My great-grandfather, Babayan Arakel Bakhshievich was born in 1880. My great-grandmother, Babayan Sharmaag Arutyunovna was born in 1882. They are from my mother's side. Sadly, Armenians have a long history of suffering and my relatives have been part of that history. During the 1915 genocide, the Turks burned my great-grandparents children while my great- grandparents miraculously managed to stay alive. They ran and settled in village Chaylo, Mardakert region of Nagorno Karabakh. There, they built a house and, over the years, raised a family of 10 children. As years passed and family was getting bigger, the great-grandfather and great-grandmother built a house and engaged in agriculture and pastoralism. With their hard work they have achieved great materialistic success. Children grew up, married, and every year the Babayan family grew and prospered. Peace has been prosperous for my relatives, but, as it turned out, not for long! In 1992 war broke out and during the liberation of Karabakh, my grandfather Socrates' twin brother, Babayan Bokrat Arakelovich, who was born in 1936, and his son Babayan David Bakratovich, who was only 21 years old, were killed in battle. They were surrounded by enemy and fought to the end and were eventually killed. Two of my mother's cousins' husbands were also killed. After the war in early 1990s, all of our living relatives who survived, were left without houses and without documents. Everything was destroyed by bombs. They rebuilt their lives just like the great-grandparents did after the Armenian Genocide. Our relatives returned to Stepanakert and started building houses and creating families. Our people are very patient and hardworking. After all these difficulties, on September 27, 2020, the war for Karabakh began again. This tragic war has come to an end and left my relatives’ years hard work in ruins again. My grandfather's sister, Seda Arakelovna, born in 1935, was killed. Grandson, Petrossian Haik disappeared on the third day of the war. Lives were lost, houses destroyed, and psychological damage was great. Now, they need to rebuild again, and, sadly, without some family members that have fallen in this war. Now, they need our financial help in this incomprehensibly difficult time of their lives.

If this story has touched your heart, please donate to this cause and help my relatives rebuild the ruins of their homes and begin a new chapter in their lives. Thank you for your generosity and, as always, God bless you!
