Helping Debbie Jensen to Rest in Peace

Donation protected
Hello friends and family,

My name is Cherie. I'm a cousin of Debbie Jensens. Some call her Deborah. We grew up together and were always very close. Our birthdays being 4 months apart, we often felt more like twin sisters than cousins. Our mothers are sisters, and have always been the same way.  We used to spend time playing in the woods, or with our toys, and going on long family drives or even spending the day at our late Grandmothers (Margaret Place of Eliot, Maine) house, where our entire family seemed to congregate.  The memories of family reunions at Dead Duck In, on the Piscataqua River in Eliot, or huge Thanksgiving dinners at Grams, with barely enough room for about 70 elbows around the tables, or us little kids running to McDaniels corner store in Eliot and grabbing Grams groceries for her, putting them on her tab, and carrying that "big" box back home through the woods, up to Beech Road. Wow, what fun we had! So many cousins, but Debbie and I just clicked. You see, she was deaf and I've always been hard of hearing. We understood each other in a way that most everyone else couldn't. We were a good team! She was such a sweet girl!

Fast forward. Debbie had been having pains in her stomach, but had not seen the doctor like she should have, due to lack of insurance and tight finances. Finally, after months of suffering, Debbie gave in and sought treatment, only to find a mass on her liver and cancer in her lungs. Between diagnosis, and Debbie passing, the family didn't have much time to say goodbye, or to make proper end of life plans. Debbie  was to be 56 years old on the 22nd of January. In 11 days.

I am asking, as family spokesperson on their behalf, for any help or support they may receive. As of late, Debbie's been dating, but single for quite a while now. Her mother, Bette, is elderly and on fixed income, and also dealing with major health issues herself right now. Bette, very recently, had a bad fall and broke her back. She asked for early discharge from the hospital just to be able to say goodbye to her eldest daughter, Debbie. I cannot even imagine. Bette has already had to bury one daughter, Vivian, a few years ago, from a very sudden death.

This GoFundMe is set up only to help with final expenses. Debbie had no life insurance or savings. It is my hope that her family and friends can pull together and give her a proper final resting place. She loved everyone and always had a smile. I pray we can do the same for her. Any donation, seriously, even a dollar or pocket change, can add up pretty quickly.

Thank you all, in advance, for any prayers for the family, support or donations that you may offer. They, and I, appreciate every single one of you. ❤

Have a grateful day,
Cherie
