Help Deb With Medical Bills
My name is Debbie Mason. I am making this page, not for myself but to help my family. I have worked full time since I was 15 and now at 56, I have been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. It has spread to my bones and lungs. I am angry because I knew I didn't feel good and had 41 Dr visits and tests in the last two years. There was no reason this couldn't have been found sooner. I know there is no cure for this and I expect things to get worse even though I hope and pray for the best. I am going through nine months of chemo, three times a week.
I have never had to ask anyone for anything and this is very hard for me. Ive raised two kids as a single mom and now the sole provider for my daughter and grandchildren. I have owned my home for 17 years. With the medical bills stacking up and with not being able to work full time because of the bone pain and the chemo side effects, I am so afraid of losing my home. I am emotionally, physically and financially scared. I want to know that my daughter and grandkids will have a roof over their heads once I'm gone. I also don't want to leave them all these medical bills. I checked into disability and even after working all these years, I would only get 1,600. My mortgage alone is 1,400 so I wouldn't be able to get by on this since I'm not married. My daughter also works hard. She has been a pharmacy tech for five years at CVS but still not making 10.00 an hour so she pays her carpayment, insurance and clothes for the kids, etc. and helps with food.
These kids are my life and I love them so much. I want to make sure they can stay in the home where they were born. Please know that I know everyone is struggling in this day and time and I'm not asking for alot from anyone person. If you can just donate a small amount and then forward this on to your friends, it could add up and help so much. Even $1 from each person could add up. I have always been a proud person and this is hard for me but when it comes to my family, I have to try. It was also hard to post a picture of me with no hair but I need to show how serious I am about this. Love to all and thanks for any help you can give. Deb
