Many of you have heard Brett suffered a stroke this past Friday. He is still admitted in the hospital and, though it’s too early to know if he will fully recover, he will have a lot of rehab and recuperating to do regardless.
Brett has worked in a very physical role, as an RN on Unit 36, the Medical Teaching Unit, at FMC for the last 24 years. He’s always been a huge part of the history of the unit, as one of its most senior staff members, and continues to act as a mentor and foundation for the staff and unit. His sudden absence from this role has taken us all by surprise and left us wanting to help him as he’s helped countless others.
Brett, Jodie and their children have a long road ahead so all money raised will go towards helping ease the burden of his lost income and allowing the Szucs family to focus on his recovery and getting through this together.
Proud parents to 4 amazing kids, their youngest, Holli, is scheduled for her next cardiac surgery in Edmonton in October which adds to their struggle.
With Brett needing to go on disability, at least for now, and Jodie needing to take time off to provide care for Brett and their family, they will need whatever financial help we can offer. Please help support them during this difficult time and let them know they are not alone in this journey. ❤️
