Helping baby Zayne

Donation protected
My sister, Brittany, and her boyfriend Nate recently had their first baby. On September 8th my nephew Zayne was born. In just his short amount of life time he has gone through many hardships. I’m hoping to raise some money to support baby Zayne and his parents through this difficult journey. Below is a description of everything they have been through so far.

“When Brittany was 3 months pregnant, she discovered her baby had unbalanced AVSD through her echo. On September 8th Zayne was born, 10 days early, via emergency C-Section at Magee women’s hospital PGH. 24 hours after birth he was rushed to Children’s Hospital PGH because his vitals would not stay stable and his blood sugar would not go about 50. Once Zayne got to Children’s they got his blood sugar to regulate and he seemed to be stable. On September 16th Zayne got an ultrasound showing that his arteries were pumping too much blood resulting in blood going into his lungs. September 17th Zayne underwent surgery to repair this and got his Pulmonary artery “banded” to slow his blood flow. September 28th, Zayne went from the CICU to upstairs because he was stable and doctors believed he was doing well. On October 3rd zayne had an episode where his oxygen dropped to 30% several times through the night. Another ultrasound showed that Zayne required yet another surgery called an “atrial septostomy”. He seemed to recover well from this procedure until a little under 24 hours later he had 4 recorded seizures. Xrays showed that Zayne had a left sided stroke after his surgery which resulted in these seizures.
Today, October 7th, Zayne is just over 48 hours seizure free. He is stable, although his right side is a bit lame. Zayne still requires the surgery to repair his AVSD defect, so there’s no end in sight yet.
Mom (Brittany) and dad (Nathan) live an hour away from the hospital and do not qualify for any “help” through the hospital. Dad is working as much as he can but due to these setbacks and episodes, he wants and needs to be there for Zayne.”

Any help during this tough time is appreciated.
