On Friday November 10th Alex Turner, daughter of Ryan and Rhonda Turner, who is 9 years old was rushed to Randall Children’s hospital in Portland, OR and it was there that on Saturday November 11th she was diagnosed with leukemia. After blood transfusions and getting her a bit more stable Dr’s started chemotherapy on the fallowing Monday. As of today November 18th We are being told that the treatment plan is to keep her in the hospital for the first 28 days and then after that she will need to be taken from her home in Eugene, OR back to Portland, OR twice a week for the next 2.5 years for her treatments. Her Mom Rhonda has stayed by her Daughter’s bedside and will continue to do so throughout the duration of time she is there and her Dad Ryan has been and will be going back and forth on weekends and taking care of Alex sister Zoe. Unfortunately Rhonda was laid off at work and they are now trying to deal with the heartache of watching their youngest child suffer going through chemo and making sure to be strong for her and their daughter Zoe, and now with medical bills that will be continuing to roll in on top of trying to adjust to now being a single income family and just the expenses that come with all the travel to the hospital and back I am hoping some of the pressure might be taken off by friends and family chipping in if they can financially. I understand with the holidays right around the corner people’s bank accounts might be tight but I have also seen many times the small communities of Coquille, OR (where Ryan grew up) Myrtle Point, OR and Bandon, OR. Really do great things to help their own. So Please, if you can make a donation to help in Alex Turner’s fight against leukemia, I believe she can and will beat this awful disease and maybe while her parents focus on helping her fight we can bless them by taking a little pressure off financially.
