Helping a Hockey Brother

Donation protected

Andrew Shimek was injured while playing hockey Wed, 2/7/2018 at the Willmar Civic Center at approximately 9pm. The injury was a broken femur bone in his right leg.

He had surgery the next day Thursday 2/8/2018 at 11am at Rice Hospital in Willmar, MN. The surgery lasted until 4pm and was a success. He will have a 3-6 week recovery before he can return to work, which will put pressure on his budget.

As you can see above he has two loves in his life, hockey and Courtney Olson (his girlfriend). Unfortunately, he was told by his surgeon that he will not be able to play hockey any longer. He should however be able to have a full recovery, but it will take about a year to get back to 100%.

Andrew will have medical bills, along with lack of payroll checks for a few weeks. His hockey brothers are looking to take some pressure off,  so any amount will be helpful!
