Helping a Friend Get Back Up

Donation protected
Hey everyone, first off, thanks to everyone who has been asking how they can help and donate. For those of you that don't know, I recently found out that one of our reps that has been at our store for years has been homeless. I only found this out when he asked for a ride home and "home" turned out to be a tent and a sleeping bag out by a store. The weather has been extremely harsh and frigid, and having this person live out in a tent did not sit right with me at all. I offered multiple times for this person to stay with me for a few nights, but they always refused. Then a day later, I found out their tent had collapsed and now they didn't even have that. That night I took them to a shelter, because I couldn't let another day go by with them living outside. They never told anyone of their troubles or asked for help, because they didn't want to be looked down upon and be labeled a bum or anything that society jumps to nowadays. This person has always come in to work, and has done their job without asking for help. They lost most of the other stores where they were reps at because of not having a car. Financial troubles along with car issues and their roommate leaving all of a sudden piled up to the point where they lost everything. This didn't sit well with me. No one should have to live like that. No one should have to keep from asking for help because of being afraid of society labeling them. A few coworkers and myself decided to set this gofundme up to try to raise funds and get them a car. With access to a vehicle they can have more stores to be at and earn more money so that they're not living day to day with what they have in their pockets.
In the end I want to keep this a surprise and respect their privacy since they didn't want anyone to know. What I hope to do is help them GET BACK UP in 2018.  We're trying to raise enough money to not only get him a car, but to cover the insurance for a few months. This should help him attain more locations to work at and get some financial stability. Thank you again for everyone that has been asking how they can help. Please share this page so that we can achieve our goal quicker and get them back on their feet!
