Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) only effects 2,000 to 3,000 people in the U.S.A. every year. Unfortunately, my mom is in those numbers.
It all started with some routine blood work. They found that her liver enzymes were off and decided to investigate further. It was a long road that took us to Denver but they discovered that she indeed has cholangiocarcinoma. Right now, she has tubes in her ducts to help her liver regain strength and get ready for the big surgery on December 29th, 2014. They will take out a large portion (the cancerous area) of her liver and rebuild her ducts. However, they won't know if they will be doing all of that until they can go in and look at it. Things and procedures may change, but the fact is that they need to beat this darn cancer!
My mom is a wonderful person. She's done a lot in her life, including beating Hodgkin's lymphoma! I've set up this Go Fund Me account to not only help her medical expenses but also her living expenses. While she is this sick she is unable to work at her printing, shipping, and UHAUL store. She's her only employee.
I just know she has touched enough lives and help enough people. She deserves a break, and I'm hoping to give her one!
