Background
Hi, you may or may not know me...I'm Hannah and Heather Hall is one of my very best friends. If you've been lucky enough to have her as one of yours, you know that she is an amazingly loyal soul who would share her last meal if it meant you could eat too. I love her dearly, which is why I'm here asking for you to join with me in being Heather's support village during a difficult time.
Recently, Heather learned that she has Invasive Ductile Breast Cancer (meaning that the cancer started in her milk ducts, but spread outside of the duct). The days following diagnosis a series of doctor's visits, examinations, and tests to determine the full scale and nature of Heather's cancer. It has been a difficult time and I've been amazed at the grace and humor she has shown while being poked, prodded, and interrogated.
Moving Forward
Along with the recommendations and support of her surgical team, Heather underwent a double mastectomy and removal of two lymph nodes for biopsy on March 1st at UNC Rex. She is healing well from surgery, and gathering strength as she will be undergoing a round of chemotherapy treatments throughout the next 4-6 months.
There is a long road of healing and recovery ahead so I’m asking for you to help however you’re able. For those who don’t know Heather personally, she is a Pilates instructor. Due to the nature of her surgery and illness, she will be completely unable to teach for up to six months or more. Even a small donation will help make sure Heather can cover the rent and utilities for her home.
