Help Heal Travis' Heel

We are a group of friends raising hope and support for a dear friend going through a very difficult time. Last September, our friend Travis fell off a second story roof during a construction accident, and given the circumstance, was thankful to have survived with only a shattered heel bone. Yes, it was a terrible and very serious injury, but, “he's Travis,” we all thought, he's the guy we jokingly sing 'what a man, what a man' about when we see him slinging his tools around, shredding down or biking up a mountain. No one could have predicted how difficult his road to recovery would be. Travis was told to expect a challenging, yet manageable recovery following surgery to set the bones with some serious hardware and physical therapy to rebuild muscles, yet this journey has turned into 6 long months (and counting) of painful setbacks. After months of hard work towards recovery with limited results, Travis was told this was due to having contracted a serious bone infection that would require aggressive and immediate treatment. The realization that the goal of getting back on his feet  was even farther away now than ever was crushing.  Throughout the following months of bed rest, surgeries, scary unknowns, painful wound washes, dangerous blood clots, picc lines, and antibiotics, Travis' amazing girlfriend Natalie has been faithfully by his side. Unfortunately, the end is still far from sight and largely unknown. Travis and Natalie have been so strong throughout these setbacks, but as their closest friends, we sense the impact this has had on them. On top of dealing with the roller coaster of recovery, Natalie is also working multiple jobs and trying to start a private practice in a new community, as she moved to Steamboat shortly after Travis' accident to be closer to him. Not once have they asked us for anything, which is all the more reason we think they deserve some much-needed love, resources, and support.  No matter what you can afford to give-- even just kind words of encouragement, commiseration, or prayer-- please know how greatly it is appreciated.
