On the morning of August 9, 2014 lifelong Juneau resident Wesley Harris, Jr. suffered a sever tear in his aortic artery in his heart. He was within minutes of death when he was medivacced to Anchorage's Alaska Regional Hospital for emergency surgery to repair the tear and save his life. The doctors operated on him for over 10 hours doing extensive open heart surgery. His wife, Jenny (Hatten) Harris flew up to be with him during this terrifying time. The doctors believe they will be there for at least 10 days once he gets through this portion of the trauma.
They were getting ready to move south to be closer to their grandchildren and also raise their kids still at home on August 19 but that has all been put on hold. Once Wes gets through this portion of the battle, he won't be able to work, lift heavy things much of anything during his recovery nor will his wife while she cares for him and still try to pay the bills and support their children. Any help you could send their way would be graciously accepted, no amount will be refused!
And from the bottom of their heart, they truly appreciate each and everyone of you who can help them in their time of need.
