Help Happy Recover

Donation protected
Happy is a 5 year old dog that was rescued from a shelter in San Bernadino CA. He was brought to Victoria, BC in March 2017 and adopted by Emmy in April 2017 through the Rain Coast Dog Rescue.

Emmy and Happy were in the process of moving from Victoria back home to Edmonton in late August. When they stopped for the night in Red Deer (where Emmy's parents live), Happy fled the yard. He was missing for 7 weeks in Red Deer, and was discovered on Sunday, October 22 by another dog-owner, whose dog found Happy.

He was found with serious injuries (likely from being hit by a car while on the run) which require two major surgeries - one to repair a broken femur and another to put a plate in to repair his fractured pelvis. All of these costs - diagnosis, surgery, recovery - are expected to top $10,000.

While Emmy is absolutely committed to cover these costs, it will be a serious financial burden to her. So many people have followed Happy’s story over the past two months and prayed for his safe return. He’s been found (which truly is miraculous) but now is when he really needs our help. No donation is too small. Please help Happy recover. Together we can provide him and Emmy with the true Happy ending we were all hoping for!

Updates will be posted as Happy progresses in his journey to recovery.

**Update (October 24th): In the case of there being remaining funds after covering Happy's medical bills - all excess funds will be donated to the organizations who helped in the search for Happy (like the Alberta Spay Neuter Task Force).
