Help Grace Get Back Into Her Home

On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey caused widespread destruction in our south Texas town of Victoria.  It truly did change the lives of most of the people who live here. Some were effected short term with the loss of every day needs such as fresh water and electricity, many lost earnings or were forced to shut their businesses down at least temporarily, and many had varying degrees of damage to their homes.  Grace had severe damage to her home from Hurricane Harvey.  Most of the shingles were blown off the roof of her home, leaving it exposed to heavy rains which saturated the insulation and sheet rock in her ceilings causing them to eventually collapse.  Once the ceilings inside her home collapsed, the water saturated her furniture and bedding, warped all of her flooring, and ran down both the inside and outside of her walls leaving behind a soggy, moldy mess.  I walked into Grace's home for the first time ever today, and it really was shocking.  Her home was deemed uninhabitable, and she is currently living in her father's small home with her 3 children.  If you have ever found yourself wishing there was a way to help during this type of disaster, but not sure where your resources would best be used or whether they would be helping honest, hard working people to move forward in a positive and lasting way, then this is your opportunity.  Grace has worked for my husband as a medical assistant for 6 years now.  She is a hard worker.  You can depend on Grace, and you can trust her.  She is a strong, independent woman, and she doesn't like to ask for help because (usually) she can just get it done herself!  She is also a great mom to three awesome kids.  I am sitting here now telling her story because I KNOW she is exactly the type of person you and I have wished we could help.  Grace has insurance to help with repair costs, but it will fall very far short of the amount to repair the damages to her house and replace her total loss of furniture and bedding.  For this process to begin, we ask you to please consider donating to help Grace and her children get back into their home!  Even small amounts can add up to big changes in the lives of this family.
