Help for the Miller Family

Donation protected
October 2019, Marie is continuing her treatment and doing well. Her mom (Stacy) stated "things are blissfully uneventful". Praised be God. This family has been and continues to go through so much for their darling girl. Let's show them some love and donate.

In October of 2017, 3 year old Marie suddenly stopped walking. Her parents took her to her doctor and were sent to the ER where Marie was diagnosed with ALL, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

She spent 3 weeks in her local hospital where she contracted rhizopus, a serious and extremely rare fungal infection and made an ICU to ICU transfer to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). At CHOP all infected tissue in her arms had to be debrided and eventually a large grapht of skin was taken from Marie's leg to repair her arms. After many surgeries and procedues, Marie was able to return home just before Christmas.

Marie is the 5th of 6 children. She has an older sister, 3 older brothers, and her baby sister was born just 2 months before her diagnosis. At first the family had to make weekly trips to Philadelphia until Marie was stable enough to transfer her care back to her local hospital.

Cancer care effects all areas of life, not just for the patient, but the entire family. There are numerous unforeseen expenditures, and sporadic unexpected hospitalizations. Whenever Marie is imunosuppressed from chemotherapy, a single fever necessitates hospitalization. The family of 8 live on a single income and often when Marie is ill her young father must take time from work.

Great care must be taken to keep Marie safe and healthy. Some-day projects have become necessary safety measures. Old carpet must be removed from damp areas of the home to protect Marie from future infections.

The family especially asks for fervent prayers that God's Will be accomplished through their lives and for Marie to be cured. Any contributions to help Marie and her family in their time of need would be greatly appreciated and all donors will forever be in their hearts and remembered in their prayers.

May God bless and comfort all involved during this most difficult time.

UPDATE 4/26/2018:

This last month I was blessed to be able to go to Pennsylvania to see the Millers and spend some time with Marie. Marie's retina was detached and has since reattached. It will be several months before they know if and how much vision she has lost. Her skin graphs took, and Marie is a feisty and sweet typical 3 year old. She's lost much of her hair, and is sporting a new bob with bangs. While I was visiting I got to see first hand some of what Stacy, Cory and family are going through. Marie was admitted to the hospital for a round of chemo. The family is still in need of help. If I was in their shoes I wouldn't even know where to begin to ask. This will be an ongoing long journey. So if you are able, please help financially or physically but above all with prayers.
