Hi, my name is Bronte Evans and I am trying to raise money for my Grandad, Harvey Clemit.
My Grandad, 80, lost his wife of 60 years 8 weeks ago. She died very suddenly and out of the blue of an abdominal anuerism, and it shook our family to its core. My Grandad was so lost as it was his first time on his own for 60 years and he depended on my Nannan so much.
Just 8 weeks after he had to say goodbye to my Nannan, he had his life savings stolen.
At 3:50am on Monday 19th May, he heard a scratching at his door. When he opened the door (thinking it was his cats), two masked youths broke in, sprayed liquid in his eyes (which they told him was acid), and demanded his money. They stole his entire life savings of £1100. My Grandad then ran for his life out of the house, with no shirt on his back or shoes on his feet, to a neighbours house.
My Grandad is now too terrified to go back to his own home. He's currently seeking refuge at a family member's house in Bournemouth.
The Barnsley Chronicle are offering a reward to anyone who offers information that leads to a successful arrest of the criminals involved. In the mean time, we're hoping to ease his trauma by raising the money he's had stolen as a small consolation.

My Grandad has lived in Barnsley for 80 years, he has served for our country, been a hard labourer his entire life, has just had to say goodbye to his wife of 60 years, and the first time he's alone for 60 years, this happens. No one deserves this, and I'm sure if it was your grandfather you would want to help in any way that you could.
