Help for Benny

I have known Benny DeWitt a long time. Over a decade. He is unquestionably one of the most generous people I have known. If ever a friend or even a total stranger needed help, Benny has without hesitation done whatever he could. He bought me countless meals as an apprentice, gave generously of his knowledge, has shown up at a moment's notice anytime I'm in a bind, and makes himself available when I need somebody to hear me. He is a true friend.
He's also not one to ask for help when he himself could use it. I talked him into allowing me to organize this.
Benny is currently in Laredo Texas, where he planned to work at the Por Vida Tattoo convention. Unfortunately a medical issue which has been troubling him for some time now reared its ugly damned head again and has caused him to be admitted to a hospital. He is okay, but needs his friends.
Those of you who know him are aware that he is a tattooer. Tattooing is Benny's life. Being a tattooer comes at the sacrifice of holding a traditional job that provides the security of sick time, paid time off, and other benefits. It's a lifestyle which requires a great deal of dedication, sacrifice, and risks. Benny paid money for a booth rental, travel to and from Texas, etc...and now he is there incurring medical expense all while being unable to work to offset the cost of traveling to work the convention in the first place.
In short, Benny is in a tight spot. When people we love are suffering, the desire to remove that suffering is strong. We may not be able to wish or pray away his health struggles, but we can pitch in together to cut down some of the other worries on his shoulders.
So I'm asking you-his friends, people he's made tattoos for, people he's given to without any expectation for return: please consider giving what you can spare to help make this situation a little easier on him. I know he's got hundreds of people who care about him and if we all just throw in a few bucks it'll add up quick.
