Help Elaine Battle Breast Cancer

November 2017 marks 10 years Elaine has been fighting Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. It has now moved to her abdominal area. She is currently being treated with drugs, as surgery is not an option. Her prognosis is stable but, as we have learned through the years, for many, recurrence of Stage 4 is a waiting game. Each year Elaine has faced new and more daunting obstacles. These last 10 years have been difficult and through it all Elaine has remained strong. While her family and friends have helped tremendously, I sometimes feel it is Elaine who has helped us become stronger. Yet with each treatment the side effects take a little from her.

In additions to medical fees, Elaine needs two weeks worth of pills every three weeks, monthly injections thru her port, and several doctor consults each quarter. The challenges she has faced both financially and emotionally carry a heavy burden, but she has faced it all with faith and resolve and won’t let this horrible disease bring her down. Her devotion to her family and friends is unwavering. She has continued to make homemade gifts and outfits for nearly every newborn in her family, from children to cousins, and even friends seek her talent for crocheting, quilting and cross stitch. Each family member who receives these gifts knows they are filled with love.
