Hello my name is David Grimes, better known around here as Coach Dave. I have been coaching Venice Fastpitch since 2008, and currently serve as President of Miss Venice Fastpitch. I would love nothing more than to keep coaching for many years to come. I have been battling Type 1 Diabetes since 2000, and Stage 4 Renal Failure for the past 2 years. My kidney's are no longer functioning so I am now on dialysis. I have not been able to work for the past 2 years. I have been working with Shands Hopspital at The University of Florida, and have been placed on a national waiting list for kidney and pancreas transplant. My wife and two daughters are my entire world. My daughters happen to play softball as well, & I hope to get the transplant to be able to continue to coach my girls and the future girls of Venice Fastpitch. I would like to ask the help of the commuity for any donation, to help cover my medical expenses, my transplant, and take some of the burden off of my family.
