Help Child Attacked by Pit Bull

Today I discovered that the kindest, most positive eleven-year-old boy from our church congregation was viciously attacked by a neighbor's pit bull in his backyard in Dorchester.  He sustained extensive injuries, including bites all over his limbs and neck. He has had to undergo an extensive surgery and will have to have more surgeries in the future to treat his serious injuries. We are so grateful for the off-duty police officer who heard his screams and ran to stop the attack before it ended even more tragically. 

All little boys deserve compassion and help under these circumstances, but this little boy is truly unique. When he first moved here a couple of years ago, he couldn't speak any English. He happily sang the songs at church at full volume in Spanish until he learned them in English. He never skipped a beat. He has learned English incredibly well and is working hard at school, despite the difficulties of remote schooling during COVID. 

Also, his family has recently immigrated to the United States and is not in a position to bear the likely extensive costs associated with multiple surgeries. With his family's permission, I have started this GoFundMe to help pay for his medical bills, ongoing treatment, and care. Please consider donating to help his family during this very difficult time. I will withdraw all money from the campaign and give it directly to his family, to pay for his treatment and ongoing care.
