Help Cherie Battle Stage 4 Breast Cancer

Donation protected
I am writing for my daughter, Cherie Joy Stewart. Cherie is a walking MIRACLE!!!! Cherie is a 5 time breast cancer survivor and is currently undergoing radiation treatment again to her spine and chemo for tumors covering her stomach.

Cherie was first diagnosed when she was 25 yrs old. Her 18 year battle has included numerous surgeries and 6 different chemotherapy terms. Last year she also couldn't walk or move her right side and was in a wheelchair. She stayed in a rehab center for 4 months to learn to walk again. Her various chemo treatments necessitated ports being implanted in her brain and chest where they remain and are being used today.

Cherie is a beautiful, amazing, caring, spiritual young woman. Despite everything she's endured she maintains such a wonderful, loving and outgoing personality. She discovered during her 1st chemo session that she had been blessed with outstanding artistic abilities. She was sketching one day & created a work she calls "Never More Than You Can Bear". She actually surprised herself as it was an amazing work. Cherie went on painting, sketching and writing to help her through her fight. Cherie is now trying to form a support group for young women (25 + up) with breast cancer.

Cherie is 6 ft tall which caused her younger cousins to call her "SuperGirl". They still call her this today. In my mind and to everyone who knows her, she is a SuperGirl!! On a least 3 occasions she was told that her cancer was in total remission only for it to devastatingly return. The radiation to the brain has been especially challenging for her. She became bald for the 5th time, nothing she couldn't handle but the radiation caused her forehead to be completely darken and her ears became almost crisp. The baldness you can hide but the facial burns you could not. The radiation to the brain was for 18 treatments.

Last July, Cherie had to take additional radiation treatment to her spine where there are several tumors. Cherie completed the 18 daily sessions but with complications. While taking radiation, she was also taking chemotherapy. Her body couldn't tolerate both treatments. The radiation to her spine caused irritation to her esophagus which resulted in extreme nausea. She was hospitalized for 9 days during which she couldn't even take in an ice chip. Finally after administering over 8 anti-nausea drugs and intravenous feeding, she was released. Cherie completed her radiation treatments without the chemotherapy drugs. Now that the radiation is completed she has resumed her chemo treatments again.

My daughter rarely complains but I can see it in her eyes, it is more than overwhelming at times. My mother lived with Cherie and I, she was also extremely ill, diagnosed with chronic lung disease. While Ma was very ill and ultimately passed away in March, Cherie, with barely no strength, helped take care of her grandmother, feeding, giving her medicine, helping her to the bathroom. Again she never complained about how badly she was feeling. Cherie is very distraught over the lost of her grandmother.

Cherie gets a monthly disability check for $937 of which $545 goes to her health insurance. Cherie also has prescriptions co-pays totaling over $275 monthly. As of 10/2013, Cherie has accumulated over $150,000 in non-covered medical bills. To make our circumstances more overwhelming I am fighting my own medical issues (Multiple Sclerosis) where medical costs are mounting. Because of these circumstances we am in danger of losing our home in foreclosure because we are simply unable to catch up.

I pray daily that Cherie doesn't to have to worry about bills, collection agencies, or whether she'll have a home. So please help Cherie's cause by donating whatever you can so that she can stay focused on fighting to get well!
Keep us in prayer. Thank you and God Bless!
