Help Carlos with last recovery step

Hi Friends,
Our dear friend Carlos Garcia is dealing with a serious medical issue - a malignant tumor in the brain stem area. He has undergone surgery which resulted in removal of 95% of the tumor mass. Carlos is currently undergoing radiation therapy, together with chemotherapy. The third component prescribed for his battle to eliminate the remaining portion of the tumor is weekly injections of a drug known as Plerixafor. This drug inhibits regrowth of the tumor mass while the radiation and chemotherapy are applied to eliminate the remaining mass altogether. His doctor, Dr. Rios, has used this drug in other successful cases in which a brain tumor was completely eliminated. Plerixafor is effective and expensive.
The retail cost is $8,000 per dose (weekly). There is no generic version as it is still patent protected which is why it's so expensive. The cost is not being covered by his health insurance carrier. In addition, there are numerous and mounting medical bills Carlos is and will be confronting.
***UPDATE***
The manufacturer of Plerixafor has graced Carlos with a year’s worth supply at no cost to Carlos! According to Dr. Rios, his Oncologist, Carlos will need an additional 6 months worth of Plerixafor doses covering a total of 18 months. As gracious as the manufacturer has been, there will still be an additional 6 months worth of doses required. The cost of that will be $208,000 and therefore our goal. Keep in mind also that there are a myriad of additional medical expenses that Carlos is or will be confronting.
Please join us in helping Carlos out with the exorbitant cost of this drug that will continue to help make Carlos better and eliminate the tumor. Any amount will help. You can also donate anonymously if you prefer. The donations are going directly to Carlos' bank account, through the setup on this site. No one is touching these funds, before they get to him.
Carlos and I went to UM together where we became friends and brothers in the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Through the years, I've repeatedly experienced the kind and generous heart that he has, as I'm sure many of you have.
