Helping an old vet.
Hello neighbors,
I'm going to try this again ...
I am a vet (USN, 1977-1983) with preclinical Alzheimer's, beginning stages of Rheumatoid arthritis, and quite a number of other physical ailments (I've worked very hard all my life & never needed any kind of public assistance).
However, I have been having a very rough time the past couple years & am currently bankrupt & barely holding onto a house over my head (I don't even own it anymore) - I have secured some gov't assistance in that area (health ins & food allowance). But now my pickup has broken down & I have no money to get it fixed so I cannot do any work with it or move my trailers, etc - does anyone know anything about an older (97) Chev 3500 to figure out what's wrong with it so I can use it again? Or, does anyone have an old beat-up pickup (something of little or no value to you) that I can have (looking for a donation here) preferably 4WD 3/4t, but beggars can't be choosers so I could probably make anything work.
I'm not looking for cash, I can survive on pretty much nothing .. but I do have to pay for auto insurance (can't drive without that) so I may need someone to help pay for that.
I have no money, but I have a lot of mechanics tools I can no longer use (due to my ailments) that may be of value to a mechanic in exchange for repairwork. I can also possibly work some off in trade? I can still do many odd jobs in exchange - I can fix most things (minor mechanical items & handyman projects) and can do minor home repairs & remodeling projects (I have tools, knowledge, and experience) or yardwork if you wish, but I don't want to get into anything major right now, too many physical ailments to deal with.
Thank you all for the warm wishes & offers of support.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks to all.
Suprizingly I was the only one to respond. I, maybe like you, was not sure how to help. So I met with eNeal and put together a game plan.
Though Mr Kendy said he didn’t need money he could certainly use some. Given the current climate and passionate debate regarding the National Anthem I have seen a lot of patriotic posts ,and listened to a number of patriotic people. So here is an opportunity to channel your passion on a local level and feel good doing it. Any amount would help.
God Bless!
